Mutt March Oct. 30, 2010

I'm back in action! I want You! Yes, you to sign up for my team. I will be working it at the Mutt March to benefit the Humane Society of The Treasure Coast on Saturday morning, Oct. 30, 2010.

I need my friends to support all our friends. All walkers and dogs in costume are invited to join my team. This year my team is Water Pointe Realty Group in Stuart, FL. You can walk, donate, call and give moral support, or all the way.

Guess who I will be in costume? You will have to come and see me in person to find out. You know it includes a great Hat!

Be There!

Last Vacation of Summer

Just got back! Vacation, swimming in the pool, chasing many dogs, watching TV, barking so much I now have laryngitis (for real). Just finished the newsletter, be sure to check it out. It's about vacations. And I do not look like a beached whale here!

It's time to Speak Out about sun burn! That's right, make sure that your dogs are well protected from the sun and heat, especially here in Florida. Never, ever leave your dog in a hot car. It doesn't take long before we would suffocate, overheat and not make it to see another vacation. Sometimes we are very quiet in the car, because we are good pets. So please be careful and remember to bring extra water and don't expect us to keep up with you. Dogs will keep on going, even when we are exhausted. And please don't put your dogs in the back of the truck. It's just not safe. I saw a dog riding on a jet ski a few days ago, don't think that's real safe either, bumpy ride, still hot, all sun, no shade and I don't think that dog could swim if he fell in!

Enough for now. I prefer wearing a floppy hat!

Summer Fun at the Beach

All dogs should be able to do this! Roll around in the sand, get nice and dirty, sandy, icky and wet. Go for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean, chase some sticks and balls, swim out so you look like a manatee coming on shore and swallow some salt water! Thanks Pam and Al for taking a day off and taking me swimming at the beach.

Dogs Mouths Are Cleaner than Humans!

First I'd like to thank my Friend, Tom for keeping up with the blog. He knows where to find the most happening dog around! He asks how I find the time. Well, it isn't easy between, swimming, eating, sleeping and being (yuck) trained. That last one, I am really just pretending to listen, just wait til the time comes!

I read an article in the Dr. Donohue column today that really infuriates me. Don't know where he got his training, but he says that a dog's mouth is not cleaner than a human's. It "grosses" him out to think abut eating food that has touched a dog's lips, teeth, tongue, mouth. He says we are filled with bacteria!

I have scientific proof to the contrary! My friend Liz performed a science test for her science fair project a few years back. She swabbed the inside of a cat's mouth, dog and human. She let it percolate in a petri dish for awhile. RESULTS: Dog had the cleanest mouth! There you go, proof! My mama let's me lick her ice cream cone and she has no problem eating together!

Let's bake some cookies and I'll lick the spoon!

Just Back from Vacation

Gotta keep the sun off your head here in Florida!
Hey! Just got back from my extra nice vacation! I spent my time swimming, running, playing, sleeping, eating, watching TV and hugging the girls and letting them scratch me. I slept for 2 days upon my return. I missed the owners so much, I slept in their bed, right in between them. Glad I know how to write 'cause I have laryngitis from barking so much with my friends.

It's back to work on the real estate newsletter. If you want to see my handiwork I'll send you a copy of my monthly "Tyde Speaks Out on Pets" article. Just email me at tydespeaks@gmail.com and I'll put my paws on a copy for you. I want to be sure the humans choose compatible pets and find plenty of space in a new home.

Tyde Celebrating the 4th of July

Hi All, Happy 4th of July! Remember when you are celebrating to stay far enough away from the BBQ just to catch the hot dogs that roll off onto the ground. Don't get too close or you'll get burned.

When lighting fireworks, adults only! Pets and kids should not handle matches, lighters, or fireworks of any kind. It's enough fun just to watch and then hide from the big noise makers. It's all about independence today, being free to choose my thoughts, words and actions, of course all in the dog world. Remember to use sunscreen, stay hydrated and keep cool like me. Hats are a great way to keep the sun off your head. I have several favorites myself. And most of all, please do not leave pets in the car unless of course you leave the a/c running. One more hot dog (I mean frank) please!

Fidel's Turn for a vacation

I hear Fidel cannot wait til she can escape my drooling tongue. She's finished with me chasing her all over, eating her food and stealing her toys and catnip. I photographed her for Tom. Since he some how still thinks she's CUTE? I'm starting to call her chubby of late. Very heavy and flabby. Not like me I exercise every day.

I have a special assignment this week: The Water Ways of Sandsprit Park. I'm on location each day with Papa Al, running, barking at tortoises, would love to get a bunny to play with, found a snake or two. Most of all I wrove (=love) of water and swimming. I'm opening a challenge to any other dog who thinks he/she can beat me around the Sandsprit Point. I have the edge.
Signing off as 'Tyde, even though the photo shows Fidel, getting ready to move! (No love lost there)
