Mutt March Oct. 30, 2010

I'm back in action! I want You! Yes, you to sign up for my team. I will be working it at the Mutt March to benefit the Humane Society of The Treasure Coast on Saturday morning, Oct. 30, 2010.

I need my friends to support all our friends. All walkers and dogs in costume are invited to join my team. This year my team is Water Pointe Realty Group in Stuart, FL. You can walk, donate, call and give moral support, or all the way.

Guess who I will be in costume? You will have to come and see me in person to find out. You know it includes a great Hat!

Be There!

Last Vacation of Summer

Just got back! Vacation, swimming in the pool, chasing many dogs, watching TV, barking so much I now have laryngitis (for real). Just finished the newsletter, be sure to check it out. It's about vacations. And I do not look like a beached whale here!

It's time to Speak Out about sun burn! That's right, make sure that your dogs are well protected from the sun and heat, especially here in Florida. Never, ever leave your dog in a hot car. It doesn't take long before we would suffocate, overheat and not make it to see another vacation. Sometimes we are very quiet in the car, because we are good pets. So please be careful and remember to bring extra water and don't expect us to keep up with you. Dogs will keep on going, even when we are exhausted. And please don't put your dogs in the back of the truck. It's just not safe. I saw a dog riding on a jet ski a few days ago, don't think that's real safe either, bumpy ride, still hot, all sun, no shade and I don't think that dog could swim if he fell in!

Enough for now. I prefer wearing a floppy hat!

Summer Fun at the Beach

All dogs should be able to do this! Roll around in the sand, get nice and dirty, sandy, icky and wet. Go for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean, chase some sticks and balls, swim out so you look like a manatee coming on shore and swallow some salt water! Thanks Pam and Al for taking a day off and taking me swimming at the beach.

Dogs Mouths Are Cleaner than Humans!

First I'd like to thank my Friend, Tom for keeping up with the blog. He knows where to find the most happening dog around! He asks how I find the time. Well, it isn't easy between, swimming, eating, sleeping and being (yuck) trained. That last one, I am really just pretending to listen, just wait til the time comes!

I read an article in the Dr. Donohue column today that really infuriates me. Don't know where he got his training, but he says that a dog's mouth is not cleaner than a human's. It "grosses" him out to think abut eating food that has touched a dog's lips, teeth, tongue, mouth. He says we are filled with bacteria!

I have scientific proof to the contrary! My friend Liz performed a science test for her science fair project a few years back. She swabbed the inside of a cat's mouth, dog and human. She let it percolate in a petri dish for awhile. RESULTS: Dog had the cleanest mouth! There you go, proof! My mama let's me lick her ice cream cone and she has no problem eating together!

Let's bake some cookies and I'll lick the spoon!

Just Back from Vacation

Gotta keep the sun off your head here in Florida!
Hey! Just got back from my extra nice vacation! I spent my time swimming, running, playing, sleeping, eating, watching TV and hugging the girls and letting them scratch me. I slept for 2 days upon my return. I missed the owners so much, I slept in their bed, right in between them. Glad I know how to write 'cause I have laryngitis from barking so much with my friends.

It's back to work on the real estate newsletter. If you want to see my handiwork I'll send you a copy of my monthly "Tyde Speaks Out on Pets" article. Just email me at tydespeaks@gmail.com and I'll put my paws on a copy for you. I want to be sure the humans choose compatible pets and find plenty of space in a new home.

Tyde Celebrating the 4th of July

Hi All, Happy 4th of July! Remember when you are celebrating to stay far enough away from the BBQ just to catch the hot dogs that roll off onto the ground. Don't get too close or you'll get burned.

When lighting fireworks, adults only! Pets and kids should not handle matches, lighters, or fireworks of any kind. It's enough fun just to watch and then hide from the big noise makers. It's all about independence today, being free to choose my thoughts, words and actions, of course all in the dog world. Remember to use sunscreen, stay hydrated and keep cool like me. Hats are a great way to keep the sun off your head. I have several favorites myself. And most of all, please do not leave pets in the car unless of course you leave the a/c running. One more hot dog (I mean frank) please!

Fidel's Turn for a vacation

I hear Fidel cannot wait til she can escape my drooling tongue. She's finished with me chasing her all over, eating her food and stealing her toys and catnip. I photographed her for Tom. Since he some how still thinks she's CUTE? I'm starting to call her chubby of late. Very heavy and flabby. Not like me I exercise every day.

I have a special assignment this week: The Water Ways of Sandsprit Park. I'm on location each day with Papa Al, running, barking at tortoises, would love to get a bunny to play with, found a snake or two. Most of all I wrove (=love) of water and swimming. I'm opening a challenge to any other dog who thinks he/she can beat me around the Sandsprit Point. I have the edge.
Signing off as 'Tyde, even though the photo shows Fidel, getting ready to move! (No love lost there)

Lately More Work Than Play

Lately it's been work, work, work! Taking my picture, writing my blog and creating a column in Spotlight On Real Estate. I am so talented, I've been asked to write and speak out for pets in this local newsletter for Pam (mom). Rewards are pretty good though. I did go on vacation again last week to The Fur Seasons Resort here in Stuart. What a great pool they have, it's bone shaped and my friends and I romp, swim, play, and eat treats!

Here I am on location, checking our waterways, shelters, food establishments and grass accommodations in downtown Stuart, FL.

My thoughts are on the Big Oil Spill in The Gulf of Mexico of late. Many of my distant friends—birds, fish, sea critters, dolphins and all the beautiful marshes, beaches and people are being effected. We must all keep focused on the solutions. This is how we will make the best out of a very bad situation.

Send me your feedback on my article "Tyde Speaks Out on Pets" from the newsletter. This month I address hurricane preparedness. Especially being as big as I am, I want to make sure there is plenty of food, treats and a place big enough for me to go.

Woof! Your friend-Tyde

All Business and Focused On Work At Hand

I am working on a deadline. Somebody has to get this newsletter out and into the hands of the public to keep them informed. Pets lives are at stake due to hurricane season arriving. It's been nonstop action. This cat just won't stay off my desk space. She infringes every chance she gets and somehow is allowed to get away with it.

Real estate is hard work and I have several deals in the works. And for only having two front paws, a large mouth and tongue (a little bad breath), you need remember I can't hold a pen very well, but can type. Somebody get me an IPAD will ya and make my life easier.

I'm also working on changing the new 25 mph speed limit law that was put into effect on St. Lucie Blvd. without my input. Imagine! Talking to the commissioner, she doesn't yet know I'm a dog. There are these imaginary persons who complained and magically the speed limit changes. No say for other residents who live on the block or on the direct route surrounding it. I'll keep you posted. Tired, need to go find the leather couch while no one is watching. Shhhh!

Play Time

Well deserved play time! I've been working so hard, it's time to play. I love coconuts—ripping, rolling, tearing, biting and making a huge mess. By now you should have seen my article "Tyde Speaks Out on Pets" in "Spotlight on Real Estate". This is the local real estate news in Martin County, FL. My job is to write about us pets and how selling, buying, moving effects dogs, cats, owners and more! I hope you enjoy it and send me your favorite pet photos for upcoming issues!

Bow Wow Luau Exhaustion!

This is it! It's the last time I volunteer to carry a 5 lb. bag of dog food to the park for anyone! I know my friends need it; however, the heat was extremely uncomfortable. This is the result of my efforts from attending the Bow Wow Doggie Luau. Saw lots of cute Hawaiian chicks though! I will be sleeping this one off!

Bow Wow Luau

Here I am going to volunteer again today. I hope all my friends will be at Sandsprit Park today at 2 - 8 pm for our get together. We will be having games, wet T shirt contests, pet blessings and more. Just bring a 5 lb. bag of food with you for your pals who are need a helping paw.

Sorry, cats, not invited. I hope to see Charlie, Lucky, Axel, Daisy, Zoey, Zeke, Ferrell, Sassy and more! I'll take lots of photos in case you miss it. As you know I'm a working dog and a reporter for Pam's Real Estate business. It's not all fun these days. But I'm willing to pull my share.

Congratulations to Tom who got a great job in SF and a raise in the first few weeks he was there.

Love the Towel Massage

I love the towel massage! Every day I get to go swimming at Sandsprit Park. My favorite part is the towel massage that goes with the cold shower from the garden hose.

I am working so hard at being just a dog and now I've been asked to go the extra mile and be a pet reporter for Pam's real estate newsletter. Still coming up with a name for it and I am working my tail off getting my thoughts together on helping pets get through the stress of moving. I am going to "speak out" on all kinds of issues related to us animals.

Not that I want to complain but they are taking my morning milk away on my "cereal" dog food. I have spoken out by refusing to eat my meal. I have held off til 2 pm some days and they still won't give me the milk. I guess it's back to plain dog food for now. I'll try the sad eyes for some Reddi Whip Cream.

Fidel's Couch Potato Time

Some of you folks insist on knowing about this cat that has been living with me. Her name is "Fidel" (I may have mentioned her once before) Anyway, here she is relaxing on her sofa bed, just ready to pounce. She's not willing to play nice, hisses often at me, even though I am wagging my tail at her. Pam is upset as she has already killed a baby bunny and a bird. That's a no-no around here. For that little act, Fidel got harnessed with a blue-bell around her neck!

As you can see, she's in one piece. She's here for awhile until she flies away to San Francisco!
My new job has been fairly easy so far. I haven't had too much assigned to me as yet. I think that's about to change soon. Time for my nap!

New Assistant in Real Estate

It never ends, all the work I do. Now I have been recruited as Pam's new assistant at Water Pointe Realty Group. I have been asked to head up the Pet Marketing Team. I am searching for "Pam's Preferred Pet Providers". This group of specialty businesses will have to stand up to my stringent criteria.

I will be creating a list of preferred boarders, groomers, pet friendly restaurants, travel, hotels, food, non-profits and more. These will go on the PPPP and be marketed along with Pam's real estate materials. If you want to get on the list, email me at: tydespeaks@gmail.com

Mutt Derby First Place Winner

It was tough, but I made it happen. My strong, muscular body and focused mind (along with the promise of treats) propelled me over the finish line. I was faster than a speeding bullet, with more force than a runaway train and yet the grace of a gazelle. Once the yell of "Go" was heard, each mutt let loose with pounding hearts, flared nostrils and pounding paws began. Little did the others know how much training I've had every day at Sandsprit Park. The running, swimming, chasing, patience training, rewards and more. It was not really a contest given all my superior knowledge, strength and training.

My friends (about 100 or more) gathered at The Fur Seasons Resort on Saturday morning to compete in the races all to benefit the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. Owners had a great time as well. Thanks for coming out my friends!

Mutt Derby for the Humane Society

Hey I may not be the fastest dog on the track, but I want you to support me in the MUTT DERBY this year on Saturday, March 20th. I will be running, mostly having fun though. It all benefits my buddies at the Humane Society. The derby is at The Fur Seasons Resort, my favorite place to stay when the parents are away visiting Christine and Tom. Come and support me at 9:00 a.m. Hope to see you there. For practice, I'm chasing Fidel (cat) around the house!

Dogs Smiling

Hi again! I am smiling because I wanted you to know about one of my favorite web sites. Click on the link below and you can see more photos of my friends SMILING!

TIRED OF CATS, PERIOD!

I am sooooo tired of hearing about cats. What is the big deal. First they are sneaky, yes, sneaky. Sneaking around trying to get into my bed, with my owners. Imagine that! There is no sacred space left around here any more. And now I caught that Fidel on the bed with Mom and Papa last night. Can some of you other dogs out there help me? I am soooo tired I can't get my rest (14 + hours a day).

I know some of you didn't know I had a cat around here. Well that's because I did not want to give the thought any Energy. We know what happens with that, it would grow.

By the way I'm going to be in a beauty contest next weekend. Wish me luck, send your happy thoughts my way.

Aunt Jane & Uncle Ralph

Wow! I received my first card ever! Aunt Jane and Uncle Ralph must really like me. When Papa brought in the mail today, there was a card addressed to ME...TYDE. I couldn't wait to open it, but alas had a bit of trouble reading it. In case you cannot read it, the cover says "I had my own blog for a while, but I decided to go back to just pointless, incessant, barking." I think you can see the sentiment from my relatives.

I have no intention to going back to barking full time. Blogging is cool! Part time, yes. Snoring takes up a bit of my time too. Thanks Aunt Jane and Ralph, I know how much you love me.
